Hey! Say! JUMP member Daiki Arioka also returns as Ryūji Saki, Kindaichi's junior schoolmate. Another returning cast member is Wu Chun
(former member of the Taiwanese band Fahrenheit and the star of the
Taiwanese version of Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e) as Byron Li.
Kazuki Kitamura will play a teacher at the Sparta cram school, and Hiroki Narimiya will play Yōichi Takato, a nefarious mastermind and Kindaichi's eternal nemesis.
2PM’s Nichkhun is Going to participate too. Nichkhun will
portray a top student who has the key to the case. Nichkhun’s character
will be an honor student who works as hard as he can despite the
numerous adversities that come his way. He is also the key character who
holds the clues to solving the case. Nichkhun is expected to have an
intense impact on viewers.
Produced to celebrate NTV’s 60th anniversary of establishment, the
upcoming drama is the major channel’s one of the representative shows
whose first series began airing in 1995, scoring an average rating of
23.9 percent.
Based on the world-renowned comic book of the same name, the drama lastly aired its episode this January starring Seungri of Big Bang and received an award from the Tokyo Drama Awards 2013.
The Kindaichi Case Files are a drama adaptation of a popular detective
manga (Japanese comic). It has been serialized for the past twenty years
on the Weekly Shonen Magazine and is known not only in Japan but also
around the world. The first drama adaptation aired in 1995, since which they have maintained average audience ratings of 23.9% and become Nippon Television’s leading drama. In particular, the Kindaichi
Case Files Treasure in Kowloon, Hong Kong drama that aired in January
2013 was met all over Asia with favorable reviews and received an award
at the recent Tokyo Drama Awards 2013.
The Kindaichi Case Files Gate of Jail Private School Murders will air in January 2014.
